International Sales and Shipping tips
To set-up UPS shipper, navigate to the Shipping Preferences page in Store Administration, Store Settings > Shipping Prefs. and click the Configure link next the desired shipper. Watch the Shipping Setup Tutorial for more details. You can also create your own custom international shipping rates if you don’t want to leverage the UPS tools.
One can add as many customized shipping zones to the ProStores Merchant–Defined shipper as necessary to achieve custom shipping rates for both domestic and international destinations. Adding customized international shipping zones is very similar to adding a domestic shipping zone. Once added, shoppers with a matching international shipping address see rates defined for their shipping zone. ProStores uses rates from the Default shipping zone if a shopper from an undefined county (no custom zone created yet) places an order.
Merchants using the USPS shipping tools integrated with ProStores should create custom zones for each country they plan to support or update their default zone rates to cover all international destination rates. The USPS rate calculation tools currently only support US and Canadian destinations. UPS tools integrated with ProStores can calculate international shipping rates.
To add an international shipping zone:
Update the Shipping Levels if you need additional or fewer levels before adding a zone. To add or edit shipping levels, click on the Shipping Levels link near the bottom of the Shipping Preferences – ProStores Configuration page.
If creating multiple international zones with the same rates, you may want to edit your Default zone with the international rates and then add the international zones. This will simplify the duplication process for the new zones with similar rates. Remember to change your default rates to the appropriate levels once the process is complete.
It’s currently not possible to suppress a delivery method for international shipments. If all three delivery methods are enabled for your store, all shoppers will see the three different delivery methods (with different rates) regardless of their shipping address. If you plan to support only one or two delivery methods for international orders, you should enter a high value for that deliver method to discourage shoppers from selecting it during checkout.
